29 Oct Lighten your (carbon) footprint
Ready to travel again? Here are 5 ways you can reduce your carbon footprint and make travel more sustainable:
-
- Buy souvenirs from local artisans: Buying souvenirs locally not only benefits the local people but also reduces your carbon footprint.
- Eat vegetarian meals: By eating vegetarian meals you are lowering your carbon footprint and reducing emissions.
- Walk or bike around your destination: Not only does this save you money but also prevents greenhouse gas emissions from rental cars.
- Take direct flights: Taking direct flights reduces the numbers of take-offs and landings which use more fuel and emit more greenhouse gases.
- Purchase carbon offsets: Carbon offsetting allows you to compensate for the greenhouse gas emissions you produce by reducing them elsewhere. For example, you can purchase a carbon offset to offset the greenhouse gas emissions from the transportation taken to get to your destination.
